§01Letter from the studio

On why we
are here.

The browser is where most of us spend our days. The space we read in, write in, watch in, plan in. And yet the toolbars are crowded, the extensions are bloated, and the permissions they ask for are rarely justified.

We started UnifyBrowse because we wanted a quieter way of working. A small studio for small instruments — each one solving a single problem cleanly, with the smallest set of permissions, and a tier that is genuinely free.

The catalog grows slowly, on purpose. We’d rather publish four small things made carefully than forty things made hastily. Each release is built for as long as it can be useful, and quietly retired when it can’t.

If that sounds like the way you’d like your browser to feel, you’re welcome to read the catalog.

§02PrinciplesFive tenets

How
we
decide.

  1. 01

    Restraint over reach.

Each extension does one thing, made well. We delete features more often than we add them.

  2. 02

    Local before cloud.

Work happens in your browser by default. The cloud is opt-in and only for what genuinely benefits from it.

  3. 03

    Anonymous by default.

Telemetry is a random instance ID, an event name, a timestamp. We don't know who you are. We don't want to.

  4. 04

    Plain pricing, plainly told.

Free tier on every release. Premium where it earns it. No upgrade nags, no contracts, no dark patterns.

  5. 05

    Slow on purpose.

Better to ship four small things well than forty things poorly. We will publish few releases, carefully.

catalog, if you’d like.
