Privacy Policy - Image Resizer

Last updated: 29 October 2026

The short version

Image Resizer resizes, converts and compresses your images entirely inside your browser. Your images are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no account to create, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, receive, store or transmit:

  • Your images, or any part of their contents
  • Filenames, dimensions, or file sizes
  • Your browsing history, page contents, or the sites you visit
  • Any personal identifiers, advertising IDs, or behavioural profiles
  • Usage analytics or telemetry of any kind

Image Resizer contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no third-party tracking scripts.

How your images are processed

All resizing, cropping, format conversion and compression happens locally using the browser's OffscreenCanvas API. The image data never leaves your device. This is true on both the free and Pro plans - Pro unlocks features, not a different processing model.

What is stored on your device

The following is saved in your browser's own extension storage and never transmitted:

  • Output preferences - dimensions, format, quality, resize mode, focal-point anchor, target file size, letterbox colour, filename prefix
  • Saved profiles - the named setting bundles you create
  • Your Pro license key and activation id, if you buy Pro
  • A cached entitlement verdict, so Pro keeps working for up to 7 days if our license server is briefly unreachable
  • The last image you loaded, held in session storage only so the workspace survives closing and reopening the popup. It is discarded when your browser session ends, and is skipped entirely for images over 5 MB.

Clearing your browser data, or removing the extension, deletes all of it.

Network requests the extension can make

There are exactly two, and neither involves your image data.

1. Pro license activation and validation. When you paste a license key into the Pro panel, or when the extension re-checks an existing key, it contacts our license server at ir.unifybrowse.com and sends:

  • The license key you entered
  • The activation id our server issued for this install
  • A device label of the form Image Resizer · Chrome 131 · Linux - your browser name, its major version, and your operating system family. This exists so you can recognise your own activations when moving a key between devices.

This request never runs during ordinary resizing. If you never enter a license key, the extension never contacts our server at all.

2. Right-clicking an image on a web page. Choosing Resize this image downloads that image from the website hosting it, so the extension can work on it. That is an ordinary request to that website, not to us, and it is the same request your browser would make to display the image.

What our license server sees and keeps

Our license server validates keys against Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. It does not log IP addresses, and its abuse rate-limiting is keyed to the license key and activation id rather than to you or your network. Our hosting provider may hold short-lived connection logs as a normal part of serving HTTPS traffic, as any web host does.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Billing details, including your payment card, are collected and stored by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy - we never see or receive card data. See https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy

Permissions, and why each is needed

  • storage - saves your preferences and profiles so they persist between sessions, and restores the last image you were working on.
  • contextMenus - adds the right-click Resize this image entry.
  • https://ir.unifybrowse.com/* - the single host the extension may contact, used only to activate or check a Pro license key.

The extension holds no permission to read or modify the pages you visit.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data tied to you, there is generally nothing for us to export or erase. If you have bought Pro and want the purchase record or license associated with your email removed, contact us and we will handle it, coordinating with Lemon Squeezy where their records are involved. Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA; we will honour any valid request.

Children

Image Resizer is not directed at children under 13 and we knowingly collect no data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and the version published alongside the extension listing. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
