    MP3 downloads, easier format choices, and more reliable repeat downloads

    New

    • MP3 conversion for Pro — choose MP3 directly from the download format picker, with 192, 256, or 320 kbps options.
    • Save M4A and MP3 together, or select MP3 alone.
    • Conversion runs locally on your device, with available track tags and cover artwork embedded in the MP3.
    • Added a one-time introduction explaining MP3 conversion and when to use it.

    Improved

    • Your MP3 preference is remembered, with existing conversion settings preserved after updating.
    • Clearer guidance about M4A and MP3, including compatibility, file size, and quality differences.
    • Tracks over 20 minutes, or browsers without supported audio decoding, save as M4A with an explanatory notice.

    Fixed

    • Fixed a Chrome progress-reporting issue that caused MP3 conversion to fall back to M4A.
    • Improved handling of expiring download links to reduce failures when downloading the same track again.
    • Fixed missing metadata on MP3 downloads served through links without a file extension.
    • Corrected filename previews that showed .mp3 for M4A downloads.
    • Fixed errors caused by SoundCloud tabs retaining outdated extension scripts after an update or reload.
    • Corrected the download warning dialog’s alignment and spacing.

    MP3 conversion is optional. It converts SoundCloud’s AAC audio for compatibility and does not improve the original audio quality.

    Improved

    • Downloads now carry full metadata again — title, artist, album, and artwork.
    • Format labels are now accurate, so what you see before downloading is what you actually get.
    • Batch downloads continue in the background and finish reliably, even if you close the popup.
    • Reclaimed significant popup space so more of your tracks and playlists are visible without scrolling.
    • Fixed several dead or broken styles — missing colors, invisible borders, non-functional blur and animations — so the interface looks the way it was designed to.
    • Smoother transitions throughout the popup, including respect for your system's reduced-motion setting.
