Best SoundCloud Extensions for Chrome and Firefox (2026)

SoundCloud's web player does a lot, but it leaves gaps. You can't filter your feed by track length, control playback without switching back to the tab, or keep a searchable list of tracks you've opened. Browser extensions fill those gaps, and the best one for you depends on which gap bothers you most.

This guide groups six SoundCloud extensions for Chrome and Firefox by the job they do. Every extension here was checked on its official Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons listing on October 27, 2026, and each one links to that listing.

Before you install: a word on downloads

Some extensions on this list can save audio from SoundCloud. Before you use any of them, keep in mind:

• SoundCloud's Terms of Use allow downloads where the uploader has enabled them. You're responsible for respecting the uploader's settings and copyright.
• You are responsible for what you download and how you use it. Respect artists' rights, and support the artists you listen to.

Best for feed filters: Better SoundCloud Feed

If your feed is full of reposts and tracks you'd skip anyway, Better SoundCloud Feed adds a filter panel above your feed and tag pages. According to its listing, you can:

• choose which activity types to show: track posts, reposts or playlist posts
• search by title, description, genre, artist or label, with exclusions and wildcards
• set a minimum and maximum track length
• filter by date, likes, plays and follower count
• skip forward and back by a set number of seconds from the player bar
• use a Picture-in-Picture mini player when you switch tabs (on Firefox, this needs an experimental setting)

Its listing says it filters everything in your browser and stores your filter settings; like most SoundCloud extensions, it also has access to soundcloud.com. The code is open source. It is free, and it's a good pick for DJs and curators who dig through a lot of new music.

Best for a dark theme: DarkCloud – SoundCloud Dark Mode

SoundCloud now has its own dark mode on the web, which you can turn on in your settings. Try that first. If you want a different dark look, DarkCloud – SoundCloud Dark Mode changes soundcloud.com to a dark theme, on Chrome and Firefox. It does one job and stays out of the way. Its Chrome listing was last updated in August 2024, so some newer SoundCloud pages may not be fully themed.

Best simple popup player: SoundCloud Player

SoundCloud Player is an unofficial popup player for Chrome. Keep SoundCloud open in a tab, then play, pause and skip tracks from the toolbar popup without switching back. It has a homepage, a privacy policy and an open-source repository linked from its listing. If all you want is to pause music during a call without hunting for the tab, it's a simple option.

Best popup controls with extras: SoundCloud Control

SoundCloud Control also controls SoundCloud from a popup, and adds more. Its listing includes:

• play, pause, previous and next
• shuffle, repeat playlist, repeat track, like and mute
• a compact layout
• a built-in equalizer
• customizable keyboard shortcuts
• an optional download button

You need at least one SoundCloud tab open for it to work. It's available on Chrome and Firefox.

Best single download button on Firefox: SoundCloud Downloader

On Firefox, SoundCloud Downloader by NotTobi adds a download button to tracks on soundcloud.com. According to its listing, it sets title, artist, album and artwork tags on the file. It can also hide reposts and playlists in your Stream feed. It's one of the most widely used SoundCloud add-ons on Firefox Add-ons. Several unrelated add-ons share the same name, so check that the developer is NotTobi.

Best for saving tracks with tags, cover art and history: SoundCloud Enhanced Pro (ours)

SoundCloud Enhanced Pro is our extension for Chrome and Firefox. It's built for people who keep a library of tracks they've saved, rather than just listening in the browser. From the popup, you can:

• save single tracks, or several tracks from a playlist or album in one batch
• write title, artist, album and genre tags, with the cover art embedded when it's available
• save a track's cover art separately in high resolution
• see play counts, likes, reposts, genre, duration and release details
• control playback: play, pause, seek, skip, shuffle, repeat and like
• search your download history by title or artist, and keep a Viewed history of tracks you opened but didn't save
• choose a download subfolder and open saved files from the popup

If a track's artist hasn't enabled downloads, SoundCloud Enhanced Pro's "Downloads not enabled" warning offers two choices: Cancel, which leaves the track unsaved, or Download anyway. If you choose Download anyway, you accept responsibility for that download, and you need to follow SoundCloud's terms and respect the artist's rights. If you tick Don't show this again and continue, the warning is turned off for good in that browser; it only comes back if you reinstall the extension.

How to choose

• You want a cleaner feed: Better SoundCloud Feed.
• You want SoundCloud darker: turn on SoundCloud's own dark mode, or use DarkCloud for a different look.
• You want to pause and skip from any tab: SoundCloud Player for the basics, or SoundCloud Control if you also want an equalizer and shortcuts.
• You want a download button on Firefox: SoundCloud Downloader by NotTobi.
• You keep a library of saved tracks with tags, cover art and history: SoundCloud Enhanced Pro.

These extensions do different jobs, so you can combine them. For example, a feed filter works well alongside a popup player. Keep the list short, though: every extension that runs on SoundCloud can add to page load, and two extensions that change the same part of the page can conflict.

Most SoundCloud extensions need access to soundcloud.com, because they add features to SoundCloud's pages. That's expected. Be careful with any SoundCloud tool that asks to read and change your data on all websites, because it shouldn't need that. Do these extensions work in Edge, Brave or Opera? Chrome Web Store extensions usually install in other Chromium-based browsers, such as Edge, Brave and Opera, but their developers may only test them in Chrome.
