SoundCloud Enhanced Pro 3.3.0 is live on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons. This release is about one change people ask for most: MP3 at 192 kbps is now free, with clearer filenames and a few download fixes.
If you still have 3.2.1, where MP3 sat on the paid plan only, 3.3.0 changes that for the 192 kbps option.

SoundCloud Enhanced Pro 3.3.0 — free MP3 at 192 kbps; Pro adds 256 and 320.
What changed in 3.3.0
New
- MP3 at 192 kbps is free for everyone — no Pro required. Pick it from the format row.
- Pro adds 256 and 320 kbps MP3 options.
- Filenames carry format and bitrate, for example
Artist - Title (M4A · 160k).m4a, so two saves of the same track are easier to tell apart later.

Example filename pattern from the 3.3.0 release notes.
Improved
- Tracks longer than 20 minutes show the limit upfront: MP3 options are greyed out with the reason, instead of saving as M4A and explaining afterwards.
- On the free plan, choosing MP3 replaces the M4A selection (one file per save), rather than adding a second format.
- MP3 bitrates are a single choice — picking 320 replaces 256 instead of queueing both.
- Format notices are clearer and no longer sit on top of the buttons underneath them.
- The one-time MP3 introduction screen is gone; the format row explains itself.
Fixed
- Firefox downloads failed — saves work again.
- An M4A save no longer gets an MP3 filename.
- MP3 conversion was skipped silently on some tracks (most often on the free plan) — fixed.
MP3 conversion is optional. It converts SoundCloud’s AAC audio for compatibility and does not improve the original audio quality.
Free vs Pro formats in 3.3.0
- Free: M4A as before, plus MP3 at 192 kbps. Choosing MP3 replaces M4A for that save.
- Pro: the same free options, plus MP3 at 256 and 320 kbps.

M4A is still the format that keeps SoundCloud’s AAC stream without re-encoding. Use MP3 when a device or app needs it, not because it is higher quality.
When an artist hasn’t enabled downloads
Artists decide whether their tracks can be downloaded on SoundCloud. If a track’s artist hasn’t enabled downloads, the “Downloads not enabled” warning offers two choices: Cancel, and nothing is downloaded, or Download anyway. If you continue, you accept responsibility for that download. If you tick Don’t show this again and continue, the warning is turned off for good in that browser; it only comes back if you reinstall the extension. SoundCloud’s Terms of Use allow downloads where the uploader has enabled them. You’re responsible for respecting the uploader’s settings and copyright.

Frequently asked questions
Is MP3 free in 3.3.0? Yes — 192 kbps MP3 is free. 256 and 320 kbps remain Pro options.
Does converting to MP3 improve quality? No. Conversion is optional and does not improve the original audio quality. It re-encodes SoundCloud’s AAC for compatibility.
Why do filenames look different?
3.3.0 puts format and bitrate in the filename (for example Artist - Title (M4A · 160k).m4a) so saves are easier to tell apart.
Did Firefox downloads break before this release? Yes. 3.3.0 fixes failed Firefox downloads so saves work again.
Is SoundCloud Enhanced Pro made by SoundCloud? No. SoundCloud Enhanced Pro is an independent extension by UnifyBrowse and is not affiliated with or endorsed by SoundCloud.
